Assista Business Support Center

Even if you are a foreigner in Sendai you can learn how to start your own business at Assista.

Assista (アシ☆スタ) is a free business consulting service for people interested in starting their own business in Sendai. Get free legal, financial, business planning advice and more. You can even simply stop by to use their lounge area with Wi-Fi or browse their resources. Keep an eye out for seminars and events, some of which are also free. I have personally used the consulting service and attended an event here, so can confirm the staff are friendly and professional. The service is in Japanese, though there is at least one staff that speaks English, so you can ask. Located in the AER Bldg. on the 7th floor. Open weekdays only. (MAP).

Sendai is Business Friendly

The city is working hard to develop and this can be seen in the recent addition of the “Startup Visa” -Business Startup Program for Foreign Nationals.

This is a program created to encourage foreign nationals to engage in business startup activities in Sendai City. This visa is referred to as the “Business Manager” status of residence.

In order to get this visa foreign nationals are required to start a business startup in Sendai, Miyagi.
